Citizenship pathways: the questions to ask before you pay anyone
People search for a second passport and citizenship by investment. The honest answer starts with what your passports can already do.

“Second passport”, “golden visa”, and “citizenship by investment” are among the most searched phrases we see. They are not the same thing. A golden visa, where a country still offers one, is usually a residence permit tied to an investment. Citizenship is a later decision by that state, often after years, language, and presence. Some countries sell a citizenship route. Many do not. Rules change, and some programmes close.
Before anyone takes a fee, ask: which statute, which year, which family members are included, what you must invest and what you can lose, how long you must live there, and what happens to tax at home. A baby born abroad does not automatically give the parents a passport. Birth, residence, and citizenship are separate files.
We research the public rules with you and introduce a lawyer who is allowed to advise on them. We do not sell citizenship, and we will not put a country’s name on an invoice as if the outcome were already yours. If the lawful path is residence for a school year, that is the plan we write.
