How to move abroad with children
School first, then the lease, then the flight. A sequence for parents who are tempted to do it backwards.

Write the children’s ages, languages, and the month you can actually leave. That page is the brief. Everything else is downstream of it.
Schools next, before the house. A campus with no seat for the younger child is not a yes. In the southern hemisphere the school year will not match a German summer move. Ask.
The visa has to cover the school year, not only the entry. A tourist stamp is how families discover in October that they cannot stay. Counsel names the category. We will not guess it.
Housing sits inside the commute those schools allow. Then insurance, a paediatrician, and the documents: passports, school reports, vaccines. The container is last. The first month should work without it.
Tell the children the truth about the date and about what they will keep. A move planned only by adults becomes a crisis in month two, which is when we would rather still be useful.
