When a furnished or serviced flat is the right first month, and when it becomes an expensive habit.
A furnished apartment is the right tool for the first month or two: you can see the school run, you are not buying pots, and you can leave. It is the wrong tool for a school year, because the nightly rate quietly exceeds a lease.
Ask whether the building allows children, whether the address can be used for registration where the country requires it, and whether the kitchen is a kitchen. Many ‘family’ serviced flats are a hotel room with a microwave.
Use the month to sign the real lease inside the commute you have now experienced. Do not renew the serviced flat out of fatigue. Fatigue is when bad leases happen.
