International health insurance when the family moves
Expat medical cover, pregnancy exclusions, and how health insurance fits a relocation or a birth abroad.

The search is usually “best expat health insurance”. The useful question is narrower: will this policy pay for the birth, the child’s paediatrician, and a hospital you can reach from the house, in the month you land?
Pregnancy is where policies disappoint. Many exclude a birth if you were already pregnant when you applied. Say so. A birth-abroad plan that assumes insurance will pay, when the exclusion is in the schedule, is not a plan.
Some countries also require you to join a local system. Private cover does not replace that registration. We put both on the landing list.
We compare and sequence. The insurer decides claims. If you need the birth mandate or the relocation mandate, health cover sits inside them rather than as a separate surprise.
